Assume that consciousness is as fundamental as extension or mass, and that even the smallest particle of the world have some simple kind of sensation. Now let's imagine a particle as a hollow pipe (Fig. 1a), such particles would build continuous structures when interconnected - sort of pipeline (Fig. 1b).
A pipe has two surfaces - the outer and the inner. Let the outer be corresponded to physical properties, the inner - to sensations (Fig. 1a; the inner surface indicated by color). Yet, the 'feeling' of the whole pipeline would be the 'sum' of sensations of its parts. When new particles connect to the pipeline (Fig. 1b) or the pipeline transforms (Fig. 1c or 2c), its 'feeling' changes.
